Proposal Would Swap Old School for St. Charles Police

A city council committee will review the agreement Monday night.

A proposal to supply District 303 with police officers in exchange for the Little Woods school property is expected to come before a city council committee Monday night.

The city wishes to purchase the 2.25 acres property on Route 25, according to city documents. The proposed agreement states that the district, instead of receiving money, “would prefer to have the city provide the district with an ‘in kind’ consideration by continuing to provide the high school resource officers for a period of time.”

The agreement is on the agenda for the Monday night Government Operations meeting. Even if it passes the committee, the proposal still needs to be presented to the full city council.
