St. Charles Advances on Filling Economic Development Post

Mid-March is the target date to fill the position.

City officials plan to hire a manager of its Economic Development Division after the city consolidated its Economic Development and Community Development offices in mid-December, the Chicago Tribune reports.


The consolidation came months after the city’s former economic development director retired.


According to the Tribune, more than 25 people have applied for the open position. The deadline for applying for Jan. 15.

Community and Economic Development Director Rita Tungare told the Tribune the new division manager will focus on economic development efforts to strengthen the business community, as well as acting as the contact between businesses and the city.
