St. Charles Police Secure New 4-Year Contract

The collective bargaining agreement approved this week by the St. Charles City Council includes 2.75 percent annual pay increases for patrol officers.

The city of St. Charles will pay $722,600 more on patrol officer pay in the coming four years under a new contract that had been ratified earlier by the Metropolitan Alliance of Police St. Charles Chapter 27 and was unanimously approved Monday by the City Council.

The new four-year deal is retroactive to May 1 and runs through April 30, 2017, an ensures that patrol officers will receive annual 2.75 percent pay increases in each fiscal year of the new contract, according to an executive summary to the City Council on the collective bargaining accord..

The new contract includes an increase to field training officer pay, an increase in officers’ uniform allowance, and changes in how pay is determined for on-call detectives.
