The city of St. Charles will host a second open house to review new draft plans for the East Gateway, Charlestowne Mall and Main Street Corridor from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, in the St. Charles City Council Chambers, 2 E. Main St.
The open house is part of the city’s comprehensive plan process and includes input received from a Visioning Workshop for the Charlestowne Mall area that was held in August, according to a release from the city.
“We encourage residents, property owners, and members of the business community to come by any time during the open house and offer their perspective on the new plans,” said Russell Colby, planning division manager. “Citizen input is vital to the city’s comprehensive planning process.” No formal presentation is planned.
The comprehensive plan serves as the city’s official guide for land use, physical improvement and development, the release states. Work on the plan began last summer. A final draft of the plan is anticipated by the end of this year for review by the Plan Commission and Planning and Development Committee.
Community members are encouraged to continue offering input through the project website. For more information, visit city’s website, www.stcharlesil.gov, and click on the Comprehensive Plan badge at the bottom right of the page, or contact Russell Colby at 630-377-4443.
