Both St. Charles High Schools Rank Among Top 50 in State

Also, familiar news from the report card for one recently changed elementary school.

Three District 303 schools ranked among the top 50 in the state, according to information from the latest Illinois State Board of Education report cards.

Both St. Charles high schools are among the top 50. St. Charles came in 34th while is ranked 42nd, according to District 303. Both have made the Top 50 lists three years in a row.

Also for the third year in a row, St. Charles’ ranked among the top 50 state elementary schools. It reached No. 50 and is highest among Kane County elementary schools, according to the district.

The lists of the top 50 elementary, middle and high schools were compiled by the Chicago Sun-Times, which has ranked the top 100 schools in previous years.

In June, both also made the Washington Post’s High School Challenge list, which ranks schools according to college preperation.

Meanwhile, Richmond Elementary School failed to make adqueate yearly progress again, according to the Daily Herald.

However, doesn't exist anymore. Richmond was changed to a grade-level center earlier this year in a plan that combined students from nearby Davis Elementary into two new schools— and .

The District 303 School Board voted in March to make the change for the 2011-2012 school year.
