Judge: Richmond-Davis Reorganization Stays

But the district must put together sa school improvement plan for the reorganized schools. the court rules.

The Kane County Chronicle is reporting that a judge refuses to dismantle St. Charles Community Unit School District 303’s reorganization of the former Richmond and Davis elementary schools.


Kane County Circuit Judge David R. Akemann issued a ruling Wednesday rejecting a request from parents of students who used to attend St. Charles' Davis to take steps to dismantle the reorganization.

Akemann said the court would require the district to put together a school improvement plan under the No Child Left Behind Act for the reorganized schools. But he said ordering the district to reverse the changes is made for the 2011-12 school year would be “an inappropriate remedy” because decisions about school boundaries are given by statute to the district, the Chronicle reported.
