St. Charles Drill Teams Present Kick-A-Thon Check

St. Charles North and East squads raised $80,040.24 to the Geneva Chapter of the Living Well Resource Center and the American Cancer Society.

The St. Charles North High School and St. Charles East High School drill teams last weekend presented two oversized checks, representing the $80,040.24 they raised during their annual fall Kick-A-Thon, to the Geneva Chapter of the Living Well Resource Center and the American Cancer Society

The two high school drill teams each year work together to raise funds for the Living Well Resource Center and American Cancer Society through the Kick-A-Thon, which this school year was held Sept. 7, 2012.

The drill teams presented the checks Saturday, Feb. 2, at the start of the crosstown rival varsity basketball game between North and East high schools, in the St. Charles North main gym.

The $80,040.24 the drill teams raised this year for the Geneva Chapter of the Living Well Resource Center and the American Cancer Society brings to $678,019.05 the grand total raised by in the past 19 years — the Kick-A-Thon was started in 1994.

The 20th annual Kick-A-Thon will be Sept. 13, 2013, at the St. Charles East Norris Stadium between the sophomore and varsity games of the Cross-Town Classic football game.
