St. Charles Kick-A-Thon Raises Money for Cancer
St. Charles East and St. Charles North high school drill team members present check for more than $40,000.
Drill Team members from St. Charles North and St. Charles East high schools raised $40,101.16 for the American Cancer Society.
On June 22 the two teams held the 19th-annual Kick-A-Thon Kick-off. The event signifies the start of the Kick-A-Thon, a fundraiser in which both Drill Teams and community members come together to raise money for the American Cancer Society and Living Well Resource Center in order to “kick cancer.”
This year the Kick-A-Thon will be held on Sept. 7 St. Charles North in between the sophomore and varsity football games.

The event drew a number of prominent St. Charles names, including Mayor Donald Dewitt, Molly Craney the 2012 St. Charles East Kick-A-Thon Co-Chair, Charlie Kyle, principal of St. Charles East, Kari Batka, director of the Kick-A-Thon advisory board, and Buck Drach, an advisory board member and former St. Charles High School head football coach.
