St. Charles North Drill Teams Qualify for State

The St. Charles North varsity and junior varsity drill teams are headed to the March 3 Team Dance Illinois State Championship after winning honors at the Stevenson High School Team Dance Illinois regional invitational on Sunday, Feb. 17.

Competing in the 3A division, the varsity team earned first place in the open pom category, first place in the lyrical category, and second place in the open dance category. Each dance scored high enough to be rewarded with a qualification to the Team Dance Illinois State Championship.

The junior varsity team, competing in the JV title division, earned first place in the open pom category, first place in the lyrical category and second place in the open dance category. The junior varsity team scored high enough to be awarded with state qualifications for each dance as well.

Both the varsity and JV teams will compete at the Team Dance Illinois State Championship on Sunday, March 3, at the Civic Center in Peoria. The varsity team is coached by Nancy Franson-Prentiss and the JV team is coached by Colleen Kobler.
