St. Charles North Varsity Drill Team Wins Sectional

Saturday's IHSA Palatine Sectional Championship competitive dance win over the weekend assures the team will dance to the state championship on Jan. 25 in Bloomington..

St. Charles North High School’s Varsity Drill Team took top honors during competitive dance competition in the 3A-2 division during the IHSA Sectionals at Palatine High School on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013.

Team members performed their open dance, which was choreographed by senior Monique Perdue, Jamie Beaulieu, and Megan Spaniol. The sectional championship win secures a spot for the team to compete Jan. 25 in the IHSA State Championship at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington.

A weekend earlier, both the St. Charles North junior varsity and varsity teams competed at the IHSA Fieldcrest High School competition. The JV team took first place with a lyrical dance, which was choreographed by Eleisse Pettigrew, Taylor Hoekstra, and Bailey Moberly. The team took third place with an open dance, which was choreographed by Kassidy Ams, Kaleigh Bull, and Lexi Artman.

During that meeting, the varsity team finished second with its open dance and fourth place with its lyrical dance, choreographed by Audra Stapella, Lindsey Niemann, and senior Allie Isabelli. The junior varsity team is coached by Colleen Kobler and the varsity team is coached by Nancy Franson.
