St. Charles Students Named to Deans Lists

Colleges and universities announce honors for St. Charles-area residents.

Azusa Pacific University

Several local residents made the academic Deans' List at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif. These students are honored for a fall 2012 grade-point average of 3.5 or better. They are joined by 1,698 students receiving the same honor.

Claire F. Bultema of St. Charles is a business: accounting interest major.

Erik J. Gullen of St. Charles is an applied exercise science major.

Azusa Pacific University is an evangelical, Christian university committed to God first and excellence in higher education. Just 26 miles northeast of Los Angeles, it offers 52 undergraduate majors, 28 master's degree programs, 14 certificates, 10 credentials, and nine doctoral programs to its nearly 10,000 students.

Washington University

The following students were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2012 semester at Washington University in St. Louis.

Jeffrey Martin Gerold of St. Charles, who is enrolled in the university's School of Engineering and Applied Science.

Lauren Nicole Steimle of St. Charles, who also is enrolled in the university's School of Engineering and Applied Science.

Students must maintain at least a 3.6 grade point average and be enrolled in 12 graded units to qualify for the Dean's List in the School of Engineering & Applied Science.

Washington University is counted among the world's leaders in teaching and research, and it draws students and faculty to St. Louis from all 50 states and more than 120 nations. The total student body is more than 14,000 undergraduate, graduate and professional students.

University of Colorado

Cole Dougherty, of St. Charles, recently was recognized for outstanding first semester grades at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.

Dougherty was among nearly 500 freshmen honored at the First-Years Achieving Marks of Excellence reception on Feb. 6. Honorees earned a grade point average of 3.25 or higher during their first semester at University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.

Dougherty is studying in the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs College of Business and Administration.

The University of Colorado-Colorado Springs is one of the nation’s fastest-growing universities, offering 36 bachelor's degrees, 19 master's degrees and five doctoral degrees to about 9,800 students on campus annually and another 2,000 in online programs.

Berklee College of Music

Marc Malanca of St. Charles has been named to the fall semester Dean’s List at Berklee College of Music. To be eligible, full-time students must achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or above; part-time students must maintain a GPA of 3.6 or above.

The Berklee College of Music curriculum focuses on practical career preparation for today's music industry. Four-year degrees are offered in performance, jazz composition, music production & engineering, film scoring, music business/management, composition, music synthesis, contemporary writing & production, music education, songwriting, music therapy, and professional music.
