St. Charles Football and More: 5 Things You Should Know for Friday, Aug. 26.

Football is back times two in St. Charles with varsity football games tonight.

Women can celebrate freedom today with the anniversary of being granted the right to vote.

And, free live music in Geneva tonight will make you sing with at the  Ravinia-style performance.

Here are five things going on today:

1. varsity football team will play their first home game of the 2011 season against Cary-Grove at 7:30 p.m. A back-to-school dance will follow at 9 p.m. in the St. Charles East Commons. 

On the other side of town, the Black and Blue Crew varsity football team of will take on Hinsdale Central at 7:30 p.m. at the North Stars stadium.

2. As part of the Outdoor Geneva Music program,  from 6 to 9 p.m. Tonight's entertainment will feature Sharon Hartley, a solo guitar artist with an "organic blend of acoustic music with mindful lyrics."

3. The   starting at 8:30 a.m. at Mill Creek Golf Club in Geneva. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. and breakfast is served at 8 a.m.

4. presents a touching performance of They're Playing Our Song, one of Neil Simon's most romantic musicals, at 8 p.m. at the . This is a PG rated show and may not be suitable for children.

5. Fun Fact: Today celebrates Women's Equality Day in the United States. On Aug. 26, 1920, women attained the right to vote with the certification of the 19th amendment of the United States Constitution. The amendment was first presented in 1878. Women's Equality Day was introduced into legislation in 1971.
