Cougars to St. Charles Man: ‘You’re Our 10 Millionth Fan’

Kane County Cougars recognize St. Charles man as team records a milestone — for itself and among Class A teams.

The Kane County Cougars recorded a new milestone over the weekend as the team’s 10 millionth fan passed through Gate 3 at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark in Geneva, the Beacon-News in Aurora reports.


Te big moment came about 5:36 p.m. Saturday, July 20 ,2013, at the stadium’s Gate 3, when the team not only set its own record, but also became the first Class A team in history to draw that many fans, according to the Beacon-News.


According to the Beacon-News report, 46-year-old St. Charles resident Rich Davis was No. 10 million among the fans who have turned out to watch the team play since it came to Kane County. The team is in its 23rd season.

Davis received a plaque marking him as the 10 millionth fan. The plaque included 10 $100 bills also mounted in a frame, as well as 10 Cubs’ tickets to a game at the Major League ballpark, a package of 10 Cougars games in 2014, 10 Midwest League baseballs, the use of Suite 10 for the Cougars’ Labor Day game, a bat autographed by the team and a personalized Cougars jersey, the Beacon-News reported.


He also got to throw out the first pitch for Saturday night’s game.
