120+ Join North Star Drill Team’s Annual Kids' Camp

Now the drill teams from St. Charles North and St. Charles East are gearing up for their annual Kick-A-Thon and tailgate party during the Cross Town Classic on Sept. 7.

The North Star Drill Team last week hosted its 12th annual Kids’ Camp at , 4N505 Fox Mill Blvd., said parent Lori Beaulieu, who is in charge of publicity for the drill team.

More than 120 local girls in first through eighth grades attended the four-day clinic, which featured summer songs and each grade performing its dance at the annual Black and Blue Football Scrimmage, which was held Friday night at .

The drill teams teach the younger participants dances, technique and team-building activities throughout the camp.

Next on the agenda is when the and high school drill teams host their 19th annual Kick-A-Thon and tailgate party as they “Kick” for cancer research and support resources before the Cross Town Classic football game.

The tailgate party starts at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, for community kickers and their guests in the big white tent that will be set up at the southeast end of the field, behind the visitors’ bleachers at Football Stadium, according to the Kick-A-Thon website. The approximate kick time is 6:30 p.m.
