North Stars’ Kat Stutesman Makes Her Mark on UEC Gridiron

The St. Charles North senior becomes the Upstate Eight's first female all-conference pick in football.

The Daily Herald’s Dave Oberhelman reports that Kat Stutesman, the senior kicking specialist for the St. Charles High School’s football team, has become the first female player to receive all-conference honors in the Upstate Eight Conference.

The North Stars senior selection to the River Division team may not just be a first for a female football pick in the Upstate Eight — she might just be the first in the state, Oberhelman writes.

The conference’s coaches vote to choose which players are named to the all-conference team. Oberhelman noted that during the season, Stutesman was able to convert 36 of 41 extra-point attempts, setting records for the North Stars both for season and career achievements.
