St. Charles East Tops South Elgin; North Falls to Elk Grove

Saturday proved a mixed bag for St. Charles football fans, as the East High Fighting Saints defeated South Elgin and the North Stars fell to Elk Grove, The Courier-News reported.


Both teams were on the road Saturday — East’s game had been scheduled in South Elgin, and the North Stars returned to Elk Grove to play a game that was scheduled the night before but was cancelled by the severe weather that swept through the area.


The East High Fighting Saints defeated South Elgin 35-27, and the North Stars fell to Elk Grove, 23-22 in overtime.

East’s next game is at home at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, against Algonquin’s Jacobs High School.


North also stays home for its next game, which is scheduled at 7 p.m. Friday against Plainfield Central.
