Former Eclipse Select Soccer Club goalkeeper Kristen Manski added two milestones at Valparaiso, the club announced in a release this week.
The St. Charles resident and St. Charles North High School grad had a career-high 13 saves and posted her 20th career clean sheet to tie a Valparaiso record Sunday night during the team's scoreless draw against Wright State, the club announced.
Manski's 20 shutouts tie Mele Cabral and Erin Murray for the most in the Crusader program's history, according to the club. With eight shutouts this season, Manski is just two short of the team’s record for one season. Manski’s next opportunity to break Valparaiso’s shutout record will be Wednesday when the Crusaders face Loyola.
Another Eclipse alum and St. Charles resident, Illinois Wesleyan junior midfielder Hannah Ketterling, scored her second goal of the season during a 2-1 overtime loss to Augustana on Sunday in Rock Island, Ill., according to Elcipse. The St. Charles East High School alum’s goal gave Wesleyan a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute, but the Titans would drop their first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match of the season.
The Eclipse Select Soccer Club was formed in 1997 to facilitate elite-level youth soccer players and has evolved into a program consisting of more than 60 teams throughout the Chicago area. The club offers programs for boys and girls soccer players of all levels and ages, from preschool children to collegiate-level and national-team athletes.
