Primrose Farm Frolic

Hi-ho the dairy-o, it's time again for the annual Primrose Farm Frolic.

ST. CHARLES, ILL. – This family event will be held on Sunday, September 23 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Primrose Farm Park, located at 5N726 Crane Road, St. Charles. Admission is $8 for ages 12 and over, $4 for ages 2-11 and free for 2 and under. All activities are free. Funds raised from this event will support the continued development of Primrose Farm. 

Children’s activities include a straw maze, face painting, pumpkin painting, a petting zoo, pony rides and craft projects. Family activities include corn cannon launching, horse-drawn wagon rides and a gallery of old-fashioned games.  All ages will enjoy a variety of demonstrations including husking, firewood cutting, corn shelling, blacksmithing and more!

Indian corn, pumpkins, gourds, organic vegetables and more will be available for purchase from Sweet Home Organics. You may also enjoy a display of traditional farm equipment and self-guided tours of many farm buildings built in the 1930s.

This year refreshments will be available for purchase from the organic, home-cooked kitchen of Inglenook Pantry. Primrose Farm Clovers 4H Club will be operating the Make Your Own Caramel Apple station as a fundraiser for its organization.  STC Underground Teen Center will be selling cookies as a fundraiser for its teen programs.

The St. Charles Park District has partnered with these organizations to offer a phenomenal day of traditional and memorable family fun: St Charles Park Foundation, Lenkaitis Holsteins, JBW Farms, Inc., Elburn Coop, Kane County Farm Bureau, University of Illinois Extension, Fox Valley Fire Protection District, Weseman’s Feed, Buck Brothers Implement, Home Depot, Ziegler Enterprises, Heinz Brothers, Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley, St Charles Heritage Center and Four Winds Waldorf School.

Parking is available off Bolcum Road, west of Crane Road and the Spriet Fields.
