American BBC Rocks St. Charles' First Street Plaza

The British invasion came to downtown St. Charles on Wednesday evening as American BBC rocked First Street Plaza with sounds from the 1960s.

The five men who comprise American BBC had people tapping their feet, nodding their heads in rhythm, clapping their hands, and children dancing. American BBC’s members are Bill Mueller on bass/vocals; Jim Brown on keyboard, guitar and vocals; percussionist Mitch VandenBos; Paul Jados, lead vocals; and John Ziganto, lead guitar and vocals.

They were part of the reason First Street Plaza was abuzz with activity Wednesday night thanks to the Downtown St. Charles Partnership's continuing STC Live! program. The evening saw the return of the Magic of Arman Sangalang, followed by the sounds of American BBC, which covers 1960s British and American rock bands, from The Beatles to The Kinks to Jerry and the Pacemakers, the Yardbirds and more.

The weather, which cooperated as well with a cool breeze and temperatures in the low to mid-70s,  stood in marked contrast with last week's heat wave that saw a heat index enter the triple digits.

STC Live! brings an array of entertainment to the downtown area on Wednesday and Friday evenings. Jugglers, magicians, musicians and more entertain visitors, hosted by the Downtown St. Charles Partnership.
