City Becomes Top Sponsor for St. Charles RiverFest

Pride of the Fox Inc. delivers on promise to give city top billing for its help in funding the annual festival.

Pride of the Fox Inc., selected by aldermen earlier this month to produce the city’s longest-running festival, on Tuesday named the city of St. Charles as the “title sponsor” of City of St. Charles’ RiverFest.

“It is a great pleasure to announce that the city of St Charles will be the title sponsor for the 31st annual RiverFest,” said 5th Ward Alderman Ed Bessner, a Pride of the Fox board member. “What a dynamic opportunity for the city of St Charles to ensure the continued success of RiverFest. This festival is built around its residents and showcases all the beautiful attributes of the community.”

This will be the 31st year for the family-oriented festival, which is produced and organized by more than 150 volunteer residents and business owners.

The event, which will be held June 7-9, 2013, at numerous venues in and around downtown St. Charles and the Fox River, has a lineup that features sanctioned dragon boat races on the Fox River, live music on two stages, 40 tons of “Fantasy Sand Sculpture,” crafts, a carnival, a Kids Zone with free activities, a demonstration by the Kane County SWAT Team, plus local food and much more.

Pride of the Fox Inc., in a release issued Tuesday, said the city of St. Charles is among a list of more than 70 corporate and community businesses that sponsor RiverFest. The list is growing, and Pride of the Fox Inc. said benefit packages are still available and can be customized to match the sponsors’ marketing plan.
