“Firing' Up the Fox BBQ Contest got its’ roots last year at the RiverFest 30th Birthday Bash. The event was such a success that we decided to expand and make it an independent event,” said Julie Farris, executive director of Pride of the Fox Inc. “Our team made the decision to use this event to not only have fun but to also help others. We are working extremely hard to ensure a sizable donation will be made to the LivingWell Cancer Resource Center”, stated Farris.

BBQ 101 and 102 Classes are planned in April; and Kansas City Barbeque Society Judging and Table Captain Classes are set for May and will be held at Charlestown Mall. The public is invited to sign up for either class and will spend the day learning tips and techniques for perfecting their barbecue to judging based on the Kansas City Barbeque Society rules.
