The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southern Kane County until 4:15 p.m.
At 3:39 p.m., the National Weather Service said a severe thunderstorm was located near Sugar Grove moving east at 25 mph, with gusts of 69 mph reported at Aurora Airport.
Hazards are wind gusts of as much as 65 mph, and the National Weather Service is advising the impact could include damage to roofs, sidings and trees.

Locations facing the greatest impact include Aurora, Batavia, Montgomery and North Aurora, as well as Aurora University, Fermilab, the Math and Science Academy, and Waubonsee Community College.
The weather service advises those affected to to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of the build.
