St. Charles Rocks In Lincoln Park

R-Gang Entertains is the featured performer as the St. Charles Park District's free Summer Concerts in the Park series continues.

St. Charles residents turned out en masse on Thursday evening, June 19, 2013, to hear the band R-Gang Entertains at the gazebo in Lincoln Park.

Kids took center stage on the concrete "dance floor" in front of the gazebo, as the St. Charles Park District's free Summer Concerts in the Park Series continued.

Lawn chairs and blankets in the grass were the order of the evening, and while kids were dancing in front of the gazebo, a few adults could be seen nodding their heads or swaying to the beats and rhythms of late 1970s and '80s sounds. Food booths offered succulent options for those who didn't bring their own.

The Park District described R-Gang Entertains as "six highly respected members of Chicagoland’s musical community with backgrounds as diverse as the band members themselves." The band combines musical talents and showmanship to offer an array of funk and soul from the Motown era into the 21st century.
The Park District said upcoming concerts include: Mr. Meyers on June 27, Back Country Roads on July 11, Life is Drama on July 18 and How Far to Austin on July 25.

In the event of rain, the concerts will move into the Arcada Theatre, 105 E. Main St.
