West Nile Threat Enters Montgomery

The Kane County Health Department said Friday that a batch of mosquitoes collected in a trap in Montgomery tested positive for the West Nile virus, making the village the county’s third community after Algonquin and Aurora to have detected infected mosquitoes.

No human cases of the virus have emerged in Kane County so far this season.

This is the second time this summer a trap in southern Kane County showed mosquitoes testing positive for the virus, the Kane County Health Department said, noting the first was last week in Aurora.
