Anderson Animal Shelter Seeks Online Votes to Win Cash

South Elgin's Anderson Animal Shelter is in the final round of 10 nonprofits vying for $25,000 in contest whose winner is determined by online voters.

Anderson Animal Shelter in South Elgin is among 10 finalists that have qualified for a $25,000 giveaway and is asking supporters to go online and vote for the shelter, which is competing in Blackman Kallick Plante Moran contest.

It is the contest’s final round of voting, according to a release fromAnderson.

The shelter is asking supporters to vote Chicago-style — as many times as you can until noon Friday, Aug. 17. The release states this final round is only one week so be sure to submit as many votes as you possibly can, as there is no limit to how many times you can vote. Anderson also is asking its supporters to share the link to Blackman Kallick Plante Moran’s contest with family and friends and to ask them to vote as well — sharing can be done by email or social media, it said in the release. The shelter said it will post daily reminders on its Facebook page, as well as updates. The winner is to be announced Monday, Aug. 20.

Blackman Kallick Plante Moran launched the online contest to help Chicago nonprofits raise their visibility and compete for a $25,000 award. The contest, according to the release, was intended as a way to thank the Chicago-area community for its support and to celebrate the company’s its recent merger.

Anderson Animal Shelter is the only animal welfare organization to compete.
