Benefit Book Sale Planned for Lazarus House

Sale will be held June 9 - 10 at St. Charles Free Methodist Church.

A book sale to benefit is planned to be held during the Pride of the Fox Festival on June 9 and 10.  

The sale will be held from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on June 9, and from noon to 5 p.m. June 10. The sale will be located outside the , 214 Walnut St. Proceeds from the sale will go to Lazarus House. Books, CDs and VHS tapes will be available. Items for sale will include popular titles that are currently in demand. About 2,000 items in total will be available for purchase.   Prices will be $2 for hardback books, and $1 for paperback books. CDs and VHS tapes will cost $1, and DVDs will be priced at $2. Quantity discounts are available - three items can be purchased for $4, and three paperbacks can be purchased for $2.  

The sale is being conducted by PaceSetter Books, a St. Charles-based company that sells books on the Internet. Over the past several years, PaceSetter Books has provided donations to Lazarus House and also offered employment to the emergency shelter's residents. PaceSetter Books will provide the majority of the items available for sale. However, books, CDs and DVDs that are no more than two years old can be donated to the sale. Recent textbooks and professional books that are donated will be sold by PaceSetter Books, with the proceeds donated to Lazarus House.
