Weekend Planner: Festival of the Horse and Drum

Billed as “the only only equestrian multi-cultural, multi-media event of its kind,” the locally planned and sponsored Festival of the Horse and Drum should be a unique opportunity for horselovers and the curious alike.

The festival aims to show how horses and man work together, and how these magnificent animals continue to have a daily impact on our lives, whether we’re aware of it or not. The festival runs through Sunday, Aug. 18.

In conjunction with the festival, the Arcada Theatre, 105 E. Main St., hosts its first Equine Film Festival, also running through Sunday.
