St. Charles Mayor Donald DeWitte, Michael Hood, and Dr. Jon Miller on Tuesday were named the recipients of the St. Charles Community Unit School District 303 Distinguished Alumni Award for 2013. The school district, the Distinguished Alumni Award Committee and the Greater St. Charles Education Foundation said in a release that the award is given to nominees who graduated from District 303 and have demonstrated a high level of achievement in their field of endeavor or in their contributions to their community. DeWitte, a lifelong resident of St. Charles, graduated from St. Charles High School in 1972. He has worked his entire professional career in the building materials industry.
