CoffeeCON 2013 Celebrates All Things Coffee May 4

Coffee lovers from Batavia, Geneva and St. Charles are among the target audience for CoffeeCON 2013, a celebration of all things coffee that takes place May 4 in Warrenville. The event was held for the first time last year and was the brainchild of Kevin Sinnott, a Warrenville resident and coffee authority, who has written extensively on the beverage. Held in Warrenville at the IBEW building, the conference is geared to the consumer and last year drew about 1,200 people, including large number of residents from the surrounding area, including Naperville, Wheaton, Geneva, St. Charles and Lisle. Business: Downtown St. Charles Year in Review

The central business district saw 17 new businesses arrive, interior and exterior improvements, and awards.

In 2012, downtown St. Charles had over 17 new businesses open their doors, several others make significant exterior and interior improvements, and others recognized for excellence. Efforts are continuous to bring people downtown more frequently to experience the extensive offerings of dining, shopping, recreation, and entertainment.  Below are some highlights to downtown St. Charles in 2012. Several new businesses opened their doors in 2012 across downtown St. Charles which specialize in vintage, home décor, and furniture. La Vie Encore opened on Third Street and Treasure Broker LLC opened on State Street across from the Breadsmith. Sweet Natalie's Dec. 10 Opening Adds to Geneva's Reputation as a Confection Destination

A "farmers market for the sweet tooth," the new shop combines tastes and talents from eight different area bakers and adds to Geneva's growing reputation as a Mecca for people with a sweet tooth.

A collection of confectionary craftsmen will showcase their wares in a new venture in downtown Geneva beginning the week of Dec. 10. Sweet Natalie’s will be the umbrella operation for eight separate bakeries all selling their tasty treats from the same location. The new store continues to build on Geneva's growing reputation as a destination for people who have a taste for something sweet, joining the recently-expanded All Chocolate Kitchen, Graham's Chocolates, 318 Coffeehouse, The Latest Crave, The Little Traveler, Preservation Bread & Wine, Great Harvest Bread Co., Divine Desserts, Heidi's Cake & Pastry on the East Side and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in the Commons, among others.
