One female was taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle rollover crash that snapped a utility pole today on Batavia's West Side, officials said. The incident occurred on the 1400 block of Main Street between Feece Drive and Batavia Fire Station 2, 1400 Main St., said Randy Zies, Batavia fire battalion chief. One sport-utility or station wagon-type vehicle was involved in the crash. Emergency crews initially were dispatched to the scene at 11:27 a.m. The female complained of some head pain and was taken to Delnor Hospital. She was wearing a seatbelt, Zies said. "I would estimate maybe 20 yards off the road," Zies said of where the vehicle landed. "It went through the fence, snapped a telephone pole and was on its roof in the field." …

A 16-year-old from unincorporated St. Charles received two citations Monday after a three-car crash near South Elgin, police said. The boy and two other drivers were all sent to different hospitals with injuries following the crash, which occurred at the intersection of McDonald and Stevens roads in unincorporated Elgin. Kane County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the scene at about 3:30 p.m. Monday, according to a press release. The boy was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. His car collided with the crossover SUV of a 55-year-old woman from unincorporated Hampshire. The intersection of McDonald and Stevens roads was completely shut down.
Update: A 16-year-old was cited twice in connection to this crash. A three-vehicle crash with injuries shut down an intersection near South Elgin Monday afternoon, police said. The crash occurred at about 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of McDonald Road and Stevens Road in unincorporated Elgin Township, said Pat Gengler, Kane County Sheriff's Office spokesman. The intersection of McDonald and Stevens roads was closed in all directions while investigators processed the scene—please avoid the area if possible. All three vehicles were occupied only by their drivers. All three drivers were transported to area hospitals. Further details on the crash were not immediately available. Patch will post a crash update when more information is released.

A 17-year-old Elgin teen is dead after a one-car crash this weekend in northwest Kane County, police said. Lawrence Echols was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash west of the town of Burlington early Sunday, according to the Kane County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene at 12:50 a.m. Echols was riding in the back seat of a 2007 Lincoln MKZ sedan. Echols and another backseat passenger, Shadontre Smith of South Elgin, had to be extricated from the vehicle. The sedan was traveling west on Plank Road between Engel and West County Line roads at what appeared to be a high rate of speed, the Sheriff's Office said. Two drivers from St. Charles and a passenger were transported to Delnor Hospital earlier Tuesday afternoon after a two-car crash on Batavia's west side, police and fire officials said. The driver of a Honda CRV sports utility vehicle rear-ended a Toyota Sienna minivan, Police Sgt. Mike Johnson said. Authorities say the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway and struck a tree on Empire Road near Kings Wood Road.
Authorities are investigating a one-car crash that killed a Hoffman Estates man and injured two others Thursday morning, shortly after midnight, on Empire Road, west of Kings Wood Road, in unincorporated Campton Township. Driver Dustin Jordan, 24, of Hoffman Estates, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Eric Wiechart, also 24, of Carol Stream, who was the front-seat passenger, was airlifted from the crash scene and transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove for treatment of potentially life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said. David Barker, 57, was killed after his motorcycle collided with a car on Sunday.
A 57-year-old man was killed during the weekend after his motorcycle struck another vehicle just north of the city. David Barker of 39W900 block of Stonecrop Court in St. Charles was pronounced dead at Delnor Hospital after authorities air-lifted him from the crash, which at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Route 25 and May Lane in St. Charles Township. According to the Kane County Sheriff's Office, the initial investigation indicates that a 2006 Chevy Cobalt was waiting to make a left-hand turn from the northbound lane of Route 25.
