Candidates for Interim 5th Ward Alderman Announced
Replacement for David Richards could be sworn in as soon as next week.
The City of St. Charles has announced the names of five candidates who are being considered for appointment as interim alderman of the city's 5th ward. The candidate, to be chosen by the Interim Candidate Selection Committee, will serve out the term of former Alderman David Richards, who resigned his seat last month after pleading guilty to a disorderly conduct charge of indecent exposure in West Chicago. The interim alderman could be sworn in as early as next week, and will serve until May 2011. Then the seat will be filled by the winner of a special election to take place in conjunction with the April 13, 2011 municipal elections.
