Fog Wreaks Havoc With Thanksgiving Travel

Hundreds of flights were delayed at O'Hare and hundreds more were canceled, according to reports. Kane County was also under a dense fog advisory.

We hope you finally made it to your Thanksgiving destination. Wednesday morning's heavy fog, which lingered into the afternoon, caused massive delays at O'Hare and Midway airports, according to numerous reports. And the problems weren't just local. A Pacific storm train was causing travel problems for Thanksgiving to the Northwest, according to accuweather.com. More than 10 million drivers were expected on Illinois tollways Wednesday. The National Weather Service-Chicago issued a dense fog advisory for Kane County on Wednesday. "IMPACTS ... DENSE FOG WILL MAKE TRAVELING BY CAR OR AIR VERY CHALLENGING THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON. PERSONS WHO MUST TRAVEL SHOULD PLAN ACCORDINGLY," the NWS advisory said.
