Geneva police reports: It's not every day someone takes a 9-foot sculpture made out of car parts.
The sculpture isn't something you see every day—a 9-foot-tall horse and knight made entirely from bicycle parts. And now, of course, you can't see it every day because someone stole it. That's right, someone, somehow took a 9-foot piece of art out of a public right of way on one of the busiest roads in town and got away with it. At least, so far. The statue in question is the one that used to sit just outside City Hall near the Geneva library. It was moved not too long ago to the parkway on the west of the 100 block of South Randall Road near Fargo Boulevard, where someone took it sometime between noon Jan. 3 and noon Jan. 6, according to Geneva police reports. An early-morning traffic stop led to multiple charges against a St. Charles woman, including marijuana possession, accoding to Geneva police reports. Geneva police arrested Carmen Lee, 38, of St. Charles on charges of driving under the influence, DUI with a blood-alcohol content of more than. .08, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis and improper lane usage at around 2:12 a.m. Dec. 19 in the 800 block of North Bennett Street, reports said. According to the complaint in the 16th Circuit Court, Lee possessed a smoking pipe and not more than 2.5 grams of marijuana. She has a court date of Jan. 16 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Geneva police arrested Ryan Vervynck, 29, of St. Charles on charges of attempting to elude a police officer, disobeying a stop sign and speeding about 5:03 a.m. Dec. 5, reports said. According to reports, Vervynck was travelling 41 mph in a 30 mph zone in the 0-100 block of West State Street. He disobeyed a stop sign at eastbound Oak Street and Crissey and was arrested in the 100 block of Oak Street. He has a court date of Jan. 22 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Geneva Police Reports: Nicole Wiesner, the 20-year-old Genevan who twice was involved in single-car crashes in recent weeks now faces additional charges of alcohol consumption by a minor.
Nicole K. Wiesner, 20, the young woman involved in two recent single-car crashes, was arrested at around 3:29 a.m. June 22 along with a 19-year-old friend on charges of alcohol consumption by minor. According to the complaint with the 16th District Circuit Court, Wiesner and Brittany Maberry of Batavia “knowingly consumed an alcoholic liquor” at a residence in the 800 block of Britta Lane, Geneva. Wiesner’s address also is in the 800 block of Britta Lane. Both have a court date of Aug. 7 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road, St. Charles. A 67-year-old St. Charles man is taken to Delnor Hospital on May 14 after falling off to avoid hitting another vehicle.
A motorcycle driven by James Haag, 67, of St. Charles crashed around 1:50 p.m. May 14 in the 2000 block of Batavia Avenue (Route 31) about a quarter mile north of Fabyan Parkway, Geneva police reports said. Haag was driving north on Batavia Avenue when the vehicle in front of him slowed “sharply,” and as he applied the brakes of his Iron Horse Outlaw, he lost control of the vehicle and fell, reports said. Haag was taken to Delnor Hospital by Batavia Medic 51. More than $1,500 of damage was done to the motorcycle, reports said.

Geneva police charge Nicole Wiesner, 20, with driving while license suspended after she tells an officer she drove off Kirk Road trying to fix her shoe.
The 20-year-old driver involved in a high-speed, one-car crash May 4 at Bennett and Dodson streets drove off Kirk Road in another single-car accident 11 days later, Geneva police reports indicate. According to reports, Nicole Wiesner, 20, told police she was fixing her shoe when she looked up and drove her Chevrolet Cobalt off the road in the 600 block of North Kirk Road about 100 feet north of Geneva Drive. The accident occurred around 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, reports said. On May 4, Wiesner's Chevrolet Cavalier was traveling west down the hill on Dodson Street when it barreled through the stop sign of the T-intersection at a high rate of speed. Geneva police arrested Salvador Mendez, 22, of St. Charles on a charge of disorderly conduct after the victim said Mendez displayed a handgun in a verbal altercation around 2:14 a.m. in the 50 block of North River Lane, reports said.
