New Principals, Football Coach Coming to St. Charles

Board of Education approves personnel report naming new principals, new North High head football coach.

Several schools will be getting new principals in the coming school year. The personnel report the St. Charles Community Unit School District 303 Board of Education approved on Monday night lists new hires, as well as staff resignations, retirements and terminations. The report shows that Pamela Jensen has been hired as principal at Haines Middle School. Jensen received her bachelor’s degree in education from Illinois State University in Normal, and her master’s in education from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb. Her past experience includes 13 years in Oswego School District 308, where she worked five years as a junior high school principal and eight years as an assistant principal. St. Charles 8th-Grader With Cerebral Palsy Scores His First Touchdown

The actions of the coaches, players and opposing team bring tears to more than one eye as a 13-year-old achieves his dream in scoring his first touchdown.

Eighth-grader Jack McGraw has dreamed of scoring a touchdown for his football team at Haines Middle School in St. Charles. His was a dream, however, that seemed unattainable. But according to school officials, McGraw refused to let his dream die, despite his reliance on a wheelchair to get around. Thanks to his coaches, his teammates and the coaches and members of the opposing team — Batavia’s Rotolo Middle School — Jack scored the first touchdown of his life last week during the St. Charles/Haines Middle School Football Invitational Tournament. 8th Grade Gridiron Tournament Starts in St. Charles

The 32nd annual St. Charles/Haines Middle School Football Invitational Tournament runs Oct. 2-3, Oct. 10-11 and Oct. 13.

The 32nd annual St. Charles/Haines Middle School Football Invitational Tournament kicks off on Tuesday and Wednesday. Below is the tournament schedule and information about how the tournament will be held. Schools playing are Haines, Thompson, Wredling, Geneva North, Geneva South, Kaneland, Rotolo Red and Rotolo Gold. (2 games played simultaneously on Reid and the upper field.) 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 Saturday, Oct. 13, Championship Saturday 3rd /4th place at 9 a.m. and 1st/2nd place at 10:30.
