Hultgren: President's Economic Policies Will Lead Nation on Same Path as Illinois' Fiscal Crisis

Randy Hultgren said people only need to look at the fiscal state of Illinois to see where the fiscal policies of President Barack Obama will lead the country. “The bottom line is we have seen in Illinois exactly what the outcome of the Obama era policies are. We’ve seen first-hand as the state has increased taxes, increased spending…. Speeding at 104 Draws DUI for St. Charles Man

St. Charles man’s speeding stop turns into DUI arrest as well in Kendall County.

Monday night’s arrest of a St. Charles man in Kendall County brings one more proof to the truth of the expression, one thing leads to another. James D. Peters, 50, of the 6N200 block of Woodland Drive, was driving on Route 71 near Legion Road, southwest of Yorkville, when a Kendall County sheriff’s deputy clocked him driving 104 mph in a 55 mph zone about 10:27 p.m. Although the report lacked details, it did state that Peters’ arrest on a charge of speeding was followed with a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

A release date of next summer may be months away, but producers of the Superman Man of Steel film shot around Kane and Kendall counties in the summer of 2011 have released another trailer hyping the film. Remember Russell Crowe's visit to the Batavia library? Ah, those were the good old days. Now you can take a glimpse and the movie as well as the local scenery that made the visit possible. In this 2:33-minute clip, you may see a couple of local spots used for the filming and nearly all of the star-studded cast who also were seen in the area, including Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams. Republican Kay Hatcher Wins 50th State House Race Over Andrew Bernard

Kay Hatcher won the 50th State House Race in the November 2012 election, defeating challenger Andrew Bernard.

Republican Kay Hatcher has won the 50th State House Race over challenger Democratic Andrew Bernard with nearly 64% of the vote across the three counties her district spans. She received 59.45 percent of the vote in Kendall County, according to that Clerk's Office. Hatcher came away with 9,863 total votes with 7,930 coming in on election day and 1,933 in early voting. Bernard had a total of 6,727 votes with 5,175 votes on election day and 1,552 in early voting.        According to the Aurora Election Commission, Hatcher had 60 percent of the vote, or 2,583, and Bernard had 40 percent of the vote, or 1,703. In Kane County, Hatcher received 17,373 votes, or 68 percent, to Bernard's 8,354 votes or 32 percent. Hatcher has been representing the …

Relocating Navistar Employees Funnel More Than $50 Million into DuPage, Kane, Kendall Home Markets

While many transplants chose homes close to their new headquarters, others opted for properties with more open space, according to an area real estate agent.

Since Navistar employees began working in Lisle, moving from their former headquarters Fort Wayne, Ind., they have bought up more than $50 million in real estate in DuPage and nearby counties. At a community event on Feb. 2, Navistar officials said their employees had purchased their new homes mostly through John Greene Realtor, Coldwell Banker, and @properties, with $50 million closed and another $4 million under contract. Approximately half of these transactions occurred through John Greene Realtor, according to Navistar vice president Don Sharp. Navistar began phasing employees into the area in mid-2011.
