Eclipse Select Soccer Club reports that St. Charles North grad Taylor Vancil of South Elgin logged 45 shutout minutes as Florida State University routed Mississippi Valley State, 6-0, on Friday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Tallahassee, Fla. Vancil and Kelsey Wys split time in the net to record the Seminoles program's record 15th shutout of the season. Notre Dame sophomore defender and Geneva High grad Sammy Scofield of Geneva played 77 minutes during the Irish's first-round victory against Wisconsin-Milwaukee last Friday in South Bend, Ind. St. Charles North grad and Milwaukee senior goalkeeper Jamie Forbes of St. Charles made six saves, but it was not enough against a Notre Dame side that next faces Wake Forest on Friday. …

Eclipse Select Soccer Club alumna and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee senior goalkeeper Jamie Forbes, of St. Charles, posted her third straight shutout and the Panthers won the Horizon League Championship on Nov. 4 with a 1-0 victory against Wright State in Milwaukee, Wis. Forbes, a St. Charles North grad, made six saves for the clean sheet; she also was named to the All-Horizon League Tournament Team, Eclipse Select Soccer Club reports. Kristen Manski has her 21st career shutout, breaking the team’s record. She is one shutout short of tying the school’s one-season record.
Valparaiso junior goalkeeper Kristen Manski of St. Charles, a St. Charles North graduate, registered her 21st career shutout on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, during a scoreless draw against Loyola. The clean sheet gave Manski enough to break the program's shutout record, which previously was shared by Mele Cabral and Erin Murray. Manski had three saves in 110 minutes of play. Manski also has nine shutouts this season, one shy of Valpo's single-season record. Former Eclipse Select Soccer Club goalkeeper Kristen Manski added two milestones at Valparaiso, the club announced in a release this week. The St. Charles resident and St. Charles North High School grad had a career-high 13 saves and posted her 20th career clean sheet to tie a Valparaiso record Sunday night during the team's scoreless draw against Wright State, the club announced. Manski's 20 shutouts tie Mele Cabral and Erin Murray for the most in the Crusader program's history, according to the club. With eight shutouts this season, Manski is just two short of the team’s record for one season.
