Update: Plano Police Chief Says Case Is Being Treated as Missing Person, Not Kidnapping

21-year-old wheelchair bound Plano resident Corey Cann has not been seen since approximately 7 p.m. Feb. 22.

Update 7:56 p.m., Sunday Corey Cann has been reported found safe, said Plano Police Chief Steven Eaves. Read the account here.  Update 2:10 p.m., Sunday Plano Police Chief Steven Eaves told Patch that Corey Cann is currently being treated as a missing person by the police department. "As of right now we're looking at a missing person. If it does become a kidnapping or abduction we will change the status," he said.  Eaves said that Cann's information was submitted to the state police.  Update 11:10 p.m., Sunday Family and friends of Corey Cann are organizing a search at 1:15 p.m. at the Yorkville Community Christian Church, 129 Commercial Drive. Police Searching for Missing Downers Grove Man

William Foley, 55, was last seen Wednesday afternoon at his place of work in Lombard, according to Downers Grove police.

UPDATED: Feb. 11, 5 a.m. The search continues for Downers Grove resident William Foley, who was reported missing Wednesday evening after he failed to return home from work. As of Sunday night, there have been no signs of Foley, according to a post by family members on the Facebook page "Help Find Bill Foley." "The search continues throughout the weekend and we are hopeful that he will be safely returned to our family," the post states. "Please continue to spread the word and also to pray for Bill. Where ever he is, we pray that he is unharmed and able to come home to us." Search Ended For Missing Local Man

Geneva Police say they've concluded their investigation in the recent disappearance of David Erickson.

Geneva Police ended a search for an area man reported missing last month after it was determined he left on his own accord.  David R. Erickson was last seen June 12 by his family leaving his residence at 7:30 a.m. A news release issued by Geneva Police initially expressed concern about his disappearance.  But an updated release states: "We have been able to confirm that Mr. David Erickson left the Geneva area of his own volition. In an effort to respect the privacy of the family, we are not going to comment on his current whereabouts or reasons why he may have left the area." The Geneva Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing adult—David R. Erickson, 60. Erickson was last seen by his family leaving his residence on 7:30 a.m. June 12 and has not been seen or heard from since this time. According to his family, Erickson had advised them that he was going into Chicago for a meeting. Erickson is described as: David R. Erickson, Male/White, 60 years of age, 5’11”, 215 lbs. Blue eyes/gray hair. Last seen wearing a beige short sleeve dress shirt, tan pants, athletic shoes. He was also carrying a black backpack. At this time, the Geneva Police Department is most concerned about locating Erickson and encourages the public to contact the Police Department if they have any information…

Missing St. Charles Man John Spira's Sister Hires Investigator to Assist in Search

Stephanie McNeil won't give up searching for her brother.

Stephanie McNeil, the sister of missing St. Charles resident John Spira, has hired a private detective to investigate his disappearance, according to a Kane County Chronicle report. According to the report McNeil hired Matthew Hale, of the Naperville-based Illinois Investigative Solutions Inc., to look into his disappearance. Since Spira's disappearance five years ago McNeil has not given up hope in finding out what happened to her brother. Last year she appealed to Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan to force the DuPage County Sheriff to open her missing brother's case file. McNeil, who grew up in Winnetka but now lives in Phoenix, first asked the DuPage County Sheriff's Department to share information about her brother's four-year-old…
