'Man With Rifle' Incident Monday in Geneva Turns Out to Be Kids Filming YouTube Video

Geneva police reported to a call of a "man with a rifle" in a residential neighborhood around 1:45 p.m. Monday, but the incident turned out to be kids trying to film a YouTube video. About three police units responded to the call in the 2100 block of Bent Tree Drive. “It was some kids using poor judgment,” said Geneva police Cmdr. Julie Nash. A group of five children had been doing a video for the popular sharing site YouTube when police were called to investigate. According to Nash, the five were just “messing around.” At least one was carrying an "air-soft rifle," which is the term used to describe replicas of firearms that shoot plastic pellets. No charges were filed.
