Small Business Saturday: What’s a Good Local Restaurant to Take a Date?

With Small Business Saturday coming up Nov. 24, St. Charles Patch recently asked its Facebook followers, “What’s a good local restaurant to take a date for a weekend dinner?” More than 900 people viewed the post but just a handful actually responded. One comment stood out for its nostalgia: Brandon Snow I miss the hideaway. The reference, of course is to Al Capone’s Hideaway, 35W337 Riverside Drive, near Valley View. The famed steakhouse was named after the notorious Prohibition-era gangster who was feared as the ruthless mastermind of the St. Valentine’s Day massacre in Chicago.
