St. Charles police reports from Sunday, May 12, 2013 through Monday, May 13, 2013.
MONDAY, MAY 13, 2013 Leslie A. Ebersole, 53, of the 00-99 block of Highgate Course, was cited with failing to restrain her dog. A 35-year-old resident of the 800 block of South 5th Avenue reported at 12:32 a.m. that someone had forcibly entered his home, knocked over a 59-inch plasma TV, and taken two guitars and their cases from his living room. The guitars were a 1973 Hernandez acoustic valued at $2,500, and a Washburn electric Scott Ian signature guitar valued at $600. There was damage to the door of the home as well. Police recovered the guitars from the man’s girlfriend. Heather L. MONDAY, MAY 13, 2013 Ryan C. Dobbins, 21, of the 5N200 block of Meadows Drive, was cited at 2:32 a.m. on the 400 block of Illinois Street with public intoxication. SATURDAY, MAY 11, 2013 Julio Aguirre, 46, of the 200 block of Morgan Street, Elgin, was charged at 12:22 a.m. on the 800 block of South Kirk Road with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use, and failure to wear a safety belt. He posted his driver’s license and $100 cash bond, plus a $50 booking fee, and was released pending a June 6, 2013 court appearance. MONDAY, APRIL 29, 2013 Nicolas Mercadante, 28, of the 1100 block of Ancient Oaks, Bartlett, was charged at 1:51 a.m. on the 100 block of South 1st Street with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident, no insurance, and driving without headlights. Police said Mercadante’s vehicle had struck a parked vehicle in the parking lot of Kettley Realtors, 203 W. MONDAY, APRIL 15, 2013 A resident of the 900 block of Millington Way reported at 6:20 a.m. that he found some shoes, a prescription bottle containing coins and two DVD players beneath a tree. He found the items when he went out to walk his dog. Police determined the items belonged to a neighbor whom they contacted, and he said he had awakened to find his inside garage door open and lights on in two rooms. Some of the items had been taken from inside the resident’s unlocked vehicle. Police also learned a second vehicle had been entered and items were removed from a purse. As police continued their investigation, they determined the burglar(s) had entered the home, as well, and removed a LCD television valued at $350, and a $400 Apple iPad. …
