Look Out Tri-Cities: 2 to 4 Inches of Snow’s Coming

The National Weather Services advises drivers to be cautious and shovelers to expect added strain from the wet, heavy snowfall.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for snow that is supposed to last until midnight, potentially snarling the evening rush and dropping 2 to 4 inches in the process. The advisory, which was posted by Accuweather, predicts the snow will be heavy at times, reducing visibility, before tapering off later in the evening. The National Weather Service predicts accumulations of 2 to 4 inches with some isolated higher amounts. The greatest accumulations will be north of Interstate 88. The greatest threat from the snow is reduced visibility, the weather service said, which could be cut to less than a mile at times, as well as rapid accumulations on roadways during the evening commute. Hazardous Weather: Watch Out For Slick Roads Sunday Morning

The National Weather Service has canceled a Winter Weather Advisory, but freezing drizzle could still be out there. Be careful.

At 11 p.m. on Saturday, it was pretty nasty, with icy road conditions. By Sunday morning, it might be more of the same. Light snow or freezing drizzle is possible this morning, but little to no additional accumulation is expected, the National Weather Service announced early Sunday. The Weather Service canceled a Winter Weather Advisory originally issued Saturday night. "Slick road conditions are still possible, especially this morning, due to the wintry mix of precipitation the region received overnight," the Weather Service said in an alert. Please remember to leave extra distance between yourself and other vehicles when driving this morning. Kane County's high temps will only reach the mid-20s during Sunday daytime, according to the …
