Shannon Scott Stebbins, Neighbor

Shannon is an accomplished Bear die-hard. He grew up watching Vince Evans, Terry Schmidt, Noah Jackson and the hot-footed Bob Parson. In short, the crappy years.

He was in his friends' basement watching the 1985 Super Bowl featuring Da Victorious ball club known as Da Bears. He and his other prepubescent buddies were drinking out of and spraying each other with a shaken liter of Sprite pretending it was champagne. Not only did this ignite a future of alcoholism, it catapulted his undying love for all things Bears.

Shannon played football at Iowa Wesleyan College and ironically his receivers coach was none other than former Bears wide reciever Ricky Watts.

Shannon went on to become Sports Director of WLUW FM Radio and scored an on-air interview with former Bear reciever great Wendell Davis (88' - 93').

He also once met Walter Payton at a charity event and told him "Um, whoa, so, um..." He was legend-struck by "Sweetness."

He also ate rubber chicken next to Jim McMahon at another charity event, year of the 85' Super Bowl season. Mr. McMahon was chewing tobacco at the high-priced-plated dinner and was adorned in a ankle length black leather coat, alligator-skin boots and his signature shades. I was 12. He said two words to me.

Shannon also once ate dinner at Iron Mike's, Ditka's joint.

Shannon has been a season ticket holder since, well, never (they are too pricey) but he gears up head-to-toe every week and begins his pregame ritual of shaking his rump to the Super Bowl Shuffle, prays to Da Ditka for a Bear win and fires up the tv and brats.
