MONDAY, JUNE 3, 2013

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol


Jose V. Gaytan-Hernandez, 34, of the 1200 block of Kings Court, West Chicago, was charged at 3:45 a.m. at 13th and West Main streets with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol concentration greater than .08, driving on a revoked driver’s license, and obstruction  of a peace officer. He also was arrested on an unspecified Kane County warrant. Police said his blood-alcohol content registered at .204. Police arrested Gaytan-Hernandez after responding to a 3:13 a.m. report of a van fire at 13th and West Main. Gaytan-Hernandez told police he was not the driver of the van, whose occupants, he said, had fled. He posted $300 cash bond on the charges pending a July 10, 2013 court appearance, and was transported to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office for service of the warrant.

SUNDAY, JUNE 2, 2013

Retail Theft


Katelyn M. Peercy, 19, of the 800 block of Stewart Street, Batavia, and a 17-year-old juvenile from St. Charles were charged at 6:36 p.m. at Meijer, 855 S. Randall Road, with retail theft after the store reported the theft of $5.97 in two cosmetics/toiletries items and an iPhone case. The items had a combined value of $33.98. Peercy and the juvenile each was issued a notice to appear in court on July 25, 1013.

Theft from Home


A resident of the 200 block of North 15th Street reported at 3:17 p.m. that someone stole a wallet on Saturday, June 1, during a family get-together which a neighbor and his friend joined. According to the report, the wallet contained $140 and his immigration and Social Security card.

Hit-and-Run Property Damage


Jonathan Frederick Stein, 32, of the 500 block of Walnut Street, Batavia, was arrested at 3:36 a.m. at his home on a charge of failure to give information after a property damage accident.  According to the report, Stein was seen driving a black X35 sport utility vehicle when it struck a railing in the parking lot of Alley 64, 212 W. Main St., causing an estimated $1,500 damage, and then left. He posted $150 cash bond pending a June 27, 2013 court appearance.

Public Urination


Steven C. Nielson, 36, of the 900 block of Millview Drive, Batavia, was cited at 12:18 a.m. on the 200 block of Cedar Street with public urination.

Car Keyed


A 40-year-old Sycamore man reported at 3:53 p.m. that someone had keyed his 2010 Honda Civic while it was parked in the south lot at Haines Middle School, 205 S. 9th St.  

WEDNESDAY, MAY 29, 2013

DUI


Monica I. Quirin, 62, of the 300 block of Suffield Court, Geneva, was charged at 9:47 p.m. at Lincoln Highway and Bricher Road with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving too fast for conditions, and disobeying a traffic control device. She posted her driver’s license and was released on her own recognizance pending a July 11, 2013 court appearance.

Theft From Building


Diana Cantu, 45, of the 500 block of Highland Avenue, West Chicago, was charged at 6:53 p.m. with theft from a building. Further details were not immediately available. She posted $150 cash bond and was released pending a July 5, 2013 court appearance.

SATURDAY, MAY 25, 2013

Protection Order Violation


Amador Sanchez, 37, of the 1000 block of West Main Street, was charged at 11 a.m. at his home with violating a protection order. Further details were not immediately available. He was held in the Kane County Jail pending a court appearance.
