On a quiet, cool, calm and sunny almost-summer day, the Dragon Boat races brought their own kind of fun and excitement to Pottawatomie Park in St. Charles on Saturday morning, June 8, 2013.
The steady thump of the drums and the stroke of oars were accompanied by cheers, sometimes applause, and quick updates over the public address system, which also kicked out the sounds of Credence Clearwater Revival, Huey Lewis and the News and other groups, newer and older.
It was all part of the City of St. Charles RiverFest, which runs through Sunday, June 9, 2013. The festival is in it's 31st year.
